Hi
I'm having some networking problems concerning Bonjour.
The situation is as follows;
I have a G4 running 10.5 and is ethernet connected to the modem/router.
A Macbook pro running 10.6 is wireless connected to the same modem router.
Both firewalls are turned off.
Sharing is activated on the G4 (this includes AFP, remote administration, in itunes sharing is enabled and i have a bonjour list on iChat)
I can connect thru "connect to server" in finder and enter the ip adress.
I can't see the G4 in "network" and doesn't show up under "shared" in the sidebar.
iChat with bonjour doesn't work, no users appear in the list.
In iTunes i don't see a shared library.
I installed iStumbler on both machines and i only see the local machine under bonjour.
On the G4 its local. G4 and the services, on the macbook pro it's local. macbook pro and the services.
It seems that bonjour is working but they can't seem to find eachother.
I don't know if i have to open ports on the router (isn't this only for incoming traffic instead for local networking?)
Via Terminal i tried telnet ip adress 5353 and i get a "connection refused" with 3689 i can connect.
I've tried using SMB and then it does show up under shared in the sidebar.
I've read that afp doesn't work well under snow leopard so maybe that problem can be solved in 10.6.2 but i don't understand why iTunes sharing won't work.
Does anybody know how i can make the two talk?
Thanks in advance.
