I am posting this here in hopes that maybe someone has had some experience with this. I have a friend that is writting a book and wants me to make a book cover/jacket for it. I told her I would but after looking online I can not find anything that really fits what she needs. It is a standard book cover (not sure if there is a standard book cover). What ever size I make it she'll use. Does anyone out there have a template to use? I have Illustrator CS3 and Photoshop CS4.

Any sugguestions?

Thank you in advance.

Is it a graphic wrap-around, hard back or a self-cover?
How many pages, would it need a spine? What binding process would it be produced with?

Hard-back you'd need to talk to whoever is producing it.
For the others you don't really need a template just make them as normal document. Add a spine width in there, a bit extra on the overall width to accommodate for page creep during binding and you're away.

If you're recommending a size, probably best to stick to a standard paperback (A format, B format etc. depending which fits best) or just use A5.

If you find out more info i'll help you with the template if you like.
