I'm running iOS15.4 on an iPhone SE 2020. I have downloaded hundreds of books on my phone; mostly free ePubs that I read using the Books app. These are synced through iCloud Drive. It's been working fine, with books on both my phone and my Mac...until recently.

I recently purchased a new MacBook Pro running OS 12.2.1. I connected the phone to the Mac (for the first time) to sync my music files and photo files. iTunes had an option to sync the books, but I ignored it. However, when the music & photo sync was complete, my Books were gone. I read numerous forums and tried the various recommended steps: I signed in and out of iCloud, I turned iCloud Drive on and off, I unchecked and re-checked the Book sync buttons, I did a phone reset. I tried these multiple times and in different sequences.

Nothing. The books will NOT show up on my iPhone. (As a related issue, they won't show up on my MacBook, either, even though I've tried all the proper steps to get the Books synced to the computer.)

I would appreciate any suggestions as to how I can get these books back. Thank you!
