Among my Macs, I have a G4 Dual 867 Mhz machine that I would like to dual boot OSX and OS9.

I understand that these machines could dual boot, however, I have been unsuccessful. Thus far, I cannot get the machine to recognise the OS9 startup disc (Booting by pressing the "C" key on restart) and it boots to OSX by default.

Is there something I'm missing here?

Thanks!

Try holding Option while booting instead, sometimes that works better.

Otherwise, when you're in OSX you should see the CD, and inside should be an icon that says something along the lines of "install mac OS" Launch that, and it should prompt a reboot into the installer.

I'm not sure but I may have tried that already. I will try it again, though.

Are there any other ideas from anyone else?
