I understand that Snow Leopard will allow a windows boot camp partition to read from the Mac side, but still not be allowed to write to it. A program called MacDrive lets Windows read and write to HDDs formatted for the Mac.
Is it safe to install MacDrive on Windows and read and write to the Mac side of the disc? Would limiting the use to only opening documents and saving them to the Mac side prevent danger?
Thanks for potentially saving my Mac from a bad mistake!

Many are currently using MacDrive without issue

NTFS-3G will allow OS X to read/write to NTFS (Windows) and it is free

MacDrive will allow Windows to read/write HFS+ (Mac OS X), but it is not free
