I just started using a MBP (early 2008) last night and its great. I want to consolidate some of my still straggling windows apps on here so I can get rid of those machines. I am running the MBP with a 30" LCD, external keyboard, and Wacom tablet/mouse most of the time (clamshell mode). What is the best way to go with Boot Camp and XP. If I install it while running in clamshell mode, will I have problems when I go back to open laptop mode? The same question in reverse applies too... install in laptop mode then go to clamshell mode.

A related question is that I have Parallels Desktop 4.0 on backorder. Is it better to wait and do this in Parallels, or can I suck my Boot Camp stuff in as a virtual machine later on. I would like to have the option to boot directly to XP if I want to run a game, although that's not critical.
