Boot camp in laptop with mouse

Hello I am running windows xp with bootcamp on my mac laptop and I want to use a usb mouse so It will be easier for me to play games with my laptop. But when I plug the usb mouse in it does not register any suggestions??

I am also running service pack 2

First off, update to SP3. Secondly, when you plug your mouse into the machine, it should automatically install the drivers for that mouse. It sounds like your USB drivers are not working or they are broken. I would recommend updating your USB drivers (or reinstalling them).
