My father mentioned that he'd read that Boot Camp messes up OSX, I know that you partition the hard drive but that has to be done, right? Boot Camp would help me out alot, as I have many PC games (which run at terrible speeds on my PC) and play a MMORPG that is windows only, which also runs very slow on my PC. So, can you guys elaborate please, need to prove him wrong, thanks.

Boot Camp won't affect OS X, unless you mystically screw things up by doing something you shouldn't do (i.e. delete OS X partition).

As Boot Camp is provided by Apple, the maker of Macs, Mac OS X and all the iDevices, they (Apple) would be stupid to include something like Boot Camp, for you to run Windows on your Intel Mac, if it messes up their precious gift to humanity (Macs, Mac OS X and such).
In other words, unless YOU mess something up, Boot Camp doesn't.
