i keep getting this error message....is there any way around it?

It means that there isn't enough constant space on your HD to partition it. This has to do with fragmentation.

iDefrag works wonders for this.

Another way to solve this problem is by wiping your drive, reinstalling the OS and then backing up from your Time Machine backup.

will i defrag solve the problem? i dont feel like reinstalling
