I am trying to get boot camp to work on my MBP. My goal is to install a game on my MBP via XP (ageofconan).
I had to reformat my entire HD and re-install OS X via Time Machine, as the original install had files that couldn't be moved out of the way for the Windows partition to work.
After I got the partition to work, I installed the Win XP cd, restarted, and it went into Windows setup. It "copied installation files" and then automatically restarted.
This is where the problems began.
1) I originally left the XP disk in the drive, so it wanted to go back into setup. I nearly had a cow thinking it wouldn't eject the disk, but that problem got solved.
2) When I do restart, it says press any key to boot to disk. If I press nothing, it says "Disk Failure." If I press a key, it goes back into setup.
I really have no idea how to proceed at this point. The printable Boot Camp guide was helpful up until this point, but I can't actually complete the process.
Is my XP actually installed (only takes up about 600'ish MB of data ...)?
I can't make it past the restart to be able to boot into XP and install the Mac drivers for Win.
Any help would be most appreciated. I'm working in Baghdad, or else I wouldn't taint my MBP w/XP - I'd just use my desktop PC. But I'm trying to make the best with what I've got, and I'm hitting a brick wall.
Thanks,
Vudu
