I've got a Mid 2010 i5 15" with a Boot Camp partition running Win7 x64 used solely for games.

However, I'm taking a statistics class now which needs a Windows-only Excel plugin (MegaStat) so I was forced to install Excel in my Boot Camp partition. Is there any way I can use Parallels with my Boot Camp partition without screwing anything up? Booting up into Windows every time I need to use MegaStat is a pain because everything else I need (notes, lectures, etc) are in the OS X partition.

If not, are there any alternatives for me?

Parallels, VMWare Fusion can both boot your Boot Camp partition. SOme have reported issues with activation, but generally it works fine.

You could also just use Crossover Office to run Excel in OS X directly.
