I've been using a combination of Boot Camp and VMware for awhile now so I've grown fairly accustom to reformatting and the like. But recently, I wanted to reinstall my XP as a NTSF so I can have big files (despite it's non-compatiblity) but whenever I try to format the partition Boot Camp creates, I get an error saying that the disk may be damaged (and if its a SCMI disk then try ejecting it or something).

I've tried about three times, making a partition of 40 GB (is this bigger than it can allow?) and each time I check/clean the HD as a whole using Disk Utility (I even erased the empty space) but I still get the same error. Is my HD scratched or something? When it's whole, Disk Utility reports no errors. Should I do something in the Repair Installation area? Please help, I just wanna play video games DAMMIT!
