Ok, im having trouble with my windows partition. Some hard drive error and i need to boot from the XP disc to run recovery console. But the problem is i cant seem to boot from the CD.

So i tried booting using Boot Camp (run windows installer) option. But to no avail... I will be booted to this page where i have to select the options of safe mode, last known configuration etc... FYI, any options i select it will have a blue screen a few seconds later. Now the thing is how do i boot directly from the CD bypassing the safe mode options stage ?

Help is greatly appreciated.

You can do three things. All should work.

1. Insert CD, boot into Windows. When you get prompted to press any key to boot from CD, press a key.
2. Insert CD in Mac OS X, go to System Preferences -> Startup Disk, choose the CD. Reboot.
3. Reboot computer, hold down Option to get into the boot selector menu. Insert CD (if it isn't already inserted). Click rescan button. Select CD.
