Hi all,

My 2006 Intel MacBook won't boot up...I just get the grey screen with a folder/question mark. I assume my hard drive has died.

Is it possible to boot the MacBook from an external HDD that I have backed up the boot drive for my PPC PowerMac G5? If so, how would I do this?

Thanks,
Bill

Nope. Your PPC Mac doesn't have the drivers to boot your Intel Mac.

You can get a new 160GB 2.5" SATA drive relatively cheap these days, if capacity isn't an issue.

Hey, I would look and see if your MacBook is covered under the MacBook Repair Extension Program for Harddrive Issues. Hope it helps.
