Hey, I seem to be having an issue with my 1.83 Core Duo MBP. Suddenly my OSX mouse cursor shows up with vertical lines behind it. What does it mean?
and fails to boot. The sequence of events; boot gray apple screen, blue screen, then mouse cursor shows up with these vertical lines forming a rectangular shape and boot fails to continue. What should I do??!

I've tried repairing disk permissions, reset, pram, booting from the OS X DVD but no luck still hangs on the blue screen, i've completed an archive & install as well. The only way I can have it boot is in safe mode. However the lines still appear behind the mouse.

I'm hoping it's not a hardware issue but get the feeling the X1600 is on its way out :(

Anybody else come across this?
