Hello all,
I am curious about testing some linux distros on my PB G4 12.
In order to not mess with it's sorbet instalation, I was thinking about getting an SSD , plug it in my lacie firewire enclusure and run it from there.
Would it possible? Would the performance be "okay" or completely unnusable?

Thanks for your opinion

PB 12, unlike 15/17, does not have FW800, so it won’t be fast. Over FW800 at least macOS works fine.

No idea about Linux, but NetBSD and FreeBSD are supposed to support FW, while OpenBSD does not.
