Hello, all.

My Macbook pro i7 2011 model came with lion but i do not want to use lion, so i followed this guide http://www.zdnet.com/blog/government/how-to-install-snow-leopard-on-a-brand-new-lion-based-mac/10652?pg=4&tag=content;siu-container

(basically the guide says to use carbon copy cloner and apply an update to clone my SL OS)

I know that these models aren't supposed to run any other OS prior to Lion, but this guide actually works and i'm running snow leopard right now on the i7 machine.

my question is: why is the boot load time almost 2 minutes to boot? is it because i followed the guide and tweaked it? would the boot time be shorter if i actually had a fresh install of Lion instead? (do not want lion though)

breakdown of boot up: Press power button and for 1 min 11 seconds just plain white screen appears.
Apple logo with spinning bar finally appears after 1 min 11 seconds and for about another 36 seconds, it OS is loaded.

Now, on my 2009 model mbp with intel core 2 duo, the machine is equipped with snow leopard actually boots in about 36 seconds. this machine does not have the 1 min 11 sec delay like the 2011 i7 machine.
