So, I know that only cards with EFI on them can show the boot screen for a mac. However, I remember reading that the GPUs can be flashed with alternative software that would allow them to display boot screens on a mac. I have the MSI RX 560 that apple recommended on their site. Is there any way to accomplish this? Or is there another solution someone has found to show the boot screen so we can access things such as recovery, boot menu, verbose mode, or just see what error message (icon) we're getting in the event of boot failure?

Sorry, no. Last AMD card that can be flashed is R9-280X

You can access Recovery and do USB installs with RX-560, screen works after drivers are loaded, but R9-3xx/RX-4xx/RX-5xx/VEGA GPUs don't have:
  1. Boot screens,
  2. Single user mode,
  3. Verbose mode,
  4. FileVault support (MP5,1 don't support FileVault with Mojave anyway).
