I have a MacBook pro bought 10/07 from apple.com 17 inch. It went to sleep lastnight as normal butwhen I went to use again it is black screen like it won't wake up from sleep mode. I have tried many things to get it to work including all the startup key combinations recommended on apple.com. I was ripping CDs last night and one is trapped inside and have tried many suggestions to help eject it which might have allowed using system disc startup. It won't budge. Support on phone said it might be a video card and that could cost $2000, which I don't have.

Any suggestions asap greatly appreciated. I am going to Next Byte for the sales people there to have a look.

Cheers

ps: sent from my iPhone so forgive the typos please!

If holding the eject key during boot-up doesn't pop out the disc, you can holding right-click with an external mouse plugged in during boot-up.

If your graphics card is dead, then you will need to replace the entire motherboard, which you can source from repair shops/eBay. Buying from Apple would cost you a fortune.
