Boot up slower after adding more RAM?

Hi, I recently just upgraded my 2010 MBP from 4GB to 8GB. Before, it would take around 20 seconds from the push of the power button to the desktop. Now, it is much longer, probably closer to a minute (havent time it yet). With the 4GB it would be about 1.5 spins of the wheel now it spins many times. What gives?

Does About this Mac report 8GB of RAM? And is the additional RAM the same brand/specs as the original?

Yes and yes. But the problem seemed to fix itself. Just turned it off and back on and the boot times are back to normal. Not sure why it was slow at one point.
