bootable external drive

Hi y'all

I was wondering if it would be possible to get my external drive to boot in os 9 using my iMac 09' running 10.5.8. I have a mac os 9 install disk from my old g4 is this possible?

No as OS 9 does not have the drivers to support the hardware essentially
