I have the product key for win 7 ultimate but i need to know how to get the iso from a .img file to use it in bootcamp in the new mba. Is there a easy way to do this? I've been trying for an entire day... :(

You should be able to use the original media that came with Windows 7 when you purchased it.

Since Windows 7 was only released on DVD or as a iso file and was never released as a img file we can only assume that you got this through neferious means. If that is the case you won't find much help here.

I've gotten Windows 7 as an ISO from the MSDN site. All legal and paid by the university.

Its possible that universities do provide windows images in different formats. I'm sure the OP will chime in on this in the course of time.

Not only that but all Microsofts student & upgrade versions are offered as ISO's.

Anyway if he stole a license key he has already stolen Windows 7; the ISO only works for 30 days without a key (theres no point in denying him a publicly available ISO).

If you need a different version than what's avaiable for download just delete "sources/ei.cfg" to convert the install media to one that asks you what version you want.

Earlier student downloads were packages as a .EXE file with a .BOX file for the image itself. In general you can use one of the standard/official ISOs with your key as per the links Quad5NY provided.
