Ordered a new iMac (512G SSD) where I will give the Windows partition about 150g. My question is, go with 7 or 8.1 for Windows? Strictly for gaming. I will not be running any form of VM

I have the same concern. I am sure that Windows 8.1 is smoother than 7 as per my PC performance.

But does Bootcamp support Windows 8.1 ? I think not yet.

Go for 7, less bugs, more stable and equal gaming performance as 8/8.1.

Windows 8.1 is the ONLY way to go for gaming. Much better performance (FPS).

I have a Late 2011 Macbook Pro, Windows 8 worked fine, Windows 8.1 royally broke Bluetooth and Wifi support, Wifi works now but I have been unable to get bluetooth to work since the upgrade to 8.1.

Bootcamp may not be officially supported on 8.1 but it works for the most part.
