Bootcamp + Headphones ?

I run a 2009 Mac Pro which still chugs along very nicely with its extra memory and upgraded Graphics card.

I recently added some external speakers which I plug into the headphone jack socket on the front. When I boot into windows the jack is dead it is putting out no sound even though I have headphones selected in the Windows 7 sound options.

Any ideas anyone ?
