I was having a bunch of issues installing XP in Bootcamp, issues I never had with other Bootcamp installs. Here's a couple of things I just wanted to get clarification on:

  • SP3: I ran into a lot of issues and BSODs when I was installing XP. The XP install disc has SP3 slipstreamed. I think that is what causing a lot of the issues. From reading the forums I think that what I need to do is install XP with SP2, update Bootcamp, then install SP3. Just want to verify that.
  • Keyboard and trackpad: The keyboard on the MBP does not work during the install process. Is this normal? Luckily I had a usb keyboard sitting around.

If you have any advice on this I'd be glad to hear it. Thanks!

Well, no matter what I do, the internal keyboard and trackpad refuse to work in XP, so this MBP is going back.
