Hello guys!

I want to make a bootcamp install of windows 7 on my macbook pro.
I have a windows 7 dvd from my brother's pc. I can install windows from this dvd but i need a product key. I am also a student and microsoft provides me a free download of windows with a product key.
My question is: do i have to download it in order to use this product key or can i install from dvd and after use this key? My internet speed is too slow so it really matters for me :(

Please help.

You can if the key you're given matched the version of windows you have in your dvd. Lets say your dvd contains Windows 7 professional, your license will have to be for professional or else it wont work.

Use that to copy the file to an iso.

Read that to learn how to remove the cg.efi from iso. That will essentially make a install all version windows 7. Just pick the correct version for the key you have. Example pick home premium for home premium key or professional for professional.
