bootcamp is not working!

so like many others here, I have run in to an error where I cannot use my keyboard after launching the windows XP installer, I am using msdn install disk 2430.2, and I have tried on both my macbook and mac pro, Ive even borrowed a dell keyboard to try and use during the install, Ive unplugged everything except monitor(everything on the macbook was disconnected even power) so, I guess my main question is, does the above xp installer work with bootcamp? because that seems to be the hang up for me...
