bootcamp issues: the windows support software could not be saved

"the windows support software could not be saved to the selected folder. an error occurred while saving the windows support software."

when it says its downloading the windows support software, the progress bar does move but very slowly, but for some reason this error comes up when reaching around 60-70%.

yosemite version 10.10

I've used this usb before to do the same thing a few months back and it worked perfectly, also using the same iso. i went to apple's site and downloaded the bootcamp support software including the windows support software, and I'm not sure what i need to do now. how do i create a windows 7 installation disc without bootcamp? (and i have tried googling, maybe I'm not typing in the right thing?)

Is your USB stick formatted in NTFS? If it's NTFS, obviously it won't work.

It has to be formatted as FAT32.
