Hey guys.

I just had a quick question.
Is it possible to use bootcamp and install Win 7 Ult on a external HDD?
And another problem is is that my external is a IDE not SATA.

All my SATA ones are in use so if it can boot on IDE let me know.

But the main question is can it boot through external HDD regardless of SATA or IDE.

I did google search this one but many people say yes and no without source :/

No, Windows reinitializes al USB devices during boot so it won't be possible.
Although it is possible to boot OS X from an external drive.
IDE or SATA doesn't matter when you connect it through USB because you could also buy IDE enclosures.
It isn't a limitation of your Mac, it's just not possible on any Windows computer.

You could run something like parallels on the Mac and have the Windows image on a seperate HD. My wife does this. You won't be using bootcamp or having Windows in a bootcamp partition. Windows will be in an image file.
