I am trying to run bootcamp and install vista on my mac, but i keep getting error messages telling me that i can't move file's... blah blah blah. I have tried making the partition smaller and it still doesn't work. Can someone help me please!!!

this happens either when:

1. there is a file(s) on your HDD that are to big to be moved (over 3-4 GB) by the utility and give it errors for some reason

2. you need to repair your drive from the boot up dvd in disk util

3. you need to repair permissions from disk util
 
You need to use a defragmentation utility such as iDefrag. That error has been discussed before on these forums and it is due to files occupying the space where the new partition will lie, that the partitioner cannot move for some reason. The other option is an erase and install or to clone the partition somehow. Any method to condense the data to one contiguous section of the disk.
