Bootcamp Performance vs. Mac Performance

I'm not sure if this should go in a different gaming forum or something but the question is more performance in general than gaming specific. I'm just noticing that games tend to run smoother on Mac OSX than on my Windows 7 Bootcamp partition. The only reason I can notice is that I'm running games that are available on both as a test. Is this something to be expected or should I expect the same performance?

Is there anything I can do to boost my Windows BootCamp partition's performance?
