I have a nice shiny MBP C2D. It's hella nice.

I have Bootcamp installed with WinXP Pro SP2 because I never got round to playing Half-Life 2. My problem is once i've finished Half-Life, I won't need to boot into Windows for 3D acceleration, i'll just want to use Windows for simple things (things that parallels could be used for). I don't want to delete my Bootcamp install either, as I may want to play something else at a later date.

I'm not really happy allocating 40Gb of my drive to Bootcamped Windows only to waste more space installing Windows again. Is there anyway you can read your Bootcamp install from parallels? I couldn't see the option in there. Can you do it with the VMWare beta floating about?

If you can't, why not? It just make sense to only install Windows once. Why do we have to use a virtual drive when we have a real one sitting there?
