I had windows7 installed via bootcamp (worked great )

I tried installing ubuntu(linux) via bootcamp on a different hdd.. got through installation then it crashed and i had to manually restart.

When it restarted i got a black screen that said "grub" (the name of ubuntu installation software i believe)

Eventually got back into OSX.

But

Now when I try to load windows 7 i get the "grub" screen again.

I think ubuntu wrote to some kind of internal chip (since i tried installing it to a different hdd than win7 and since reformatted that drive)

Is there anyway to fix this?

Thanks for reading and any help!

Read all the way through the following thread in another Mac forum and use the method that worked for the OP. (Last post)

Regards.

Thanks for the reply.

Tried two suggestions in thread.
1.) load from rEFIt boot disk
2.)resetting pram

Unfortunately, both did not work.

When trying to load from win 7 i still get a black screen that says "grub"

Also, when I went to the rEFIt CD, booted to that & ran the partition utility.. it said nothing was wrong. However I noticed it says win7 is on partition 3 ; which it is not.. its on another partition with a name. This may be the problem

Tried to reinstall Win7 using Bootcamp assistant on another drive

When the computer restarted it went into the black grub screen.

That was my last hope. Now I'm really in a hole.
