I installed Bootcamp with a 16 bit copy of Windows 7. I've been thinking about reinstalling Bootcamp with a 32 bit copy of Windows 7. Would I need to reformat the Bootcamp partition before installing the 32 bit software or can I just reinstall over the existing partition by re-running the Bootcamp installation? I have Time Machine backups for OS X. And I have backups saved for Windows.

Thanks

If you somehow got ahold of a copy of 16 bit Windows, yeah, I'd reformat the partition and reinstall it.

Otherwise, if you have *64bit* Windows, don't bother. You gain virtually nothing by going to 32 bit at this point, unless you are using old software that is truly incompatible with 64 bit Windows.
