Bootcamp- Side by Side config Error

Hey all, just bought Fallout 3 today for PC and want to install it on my Bootcamped MBP (Late 2008) and when I click on the .exe file to install the game I receive the following message:

"The application has faile dto start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail."

Does anyone know how to resolve this issue so I can continue to install the game on my MBP? (I am also running Vista home premium x86)

hopefully someone has encountered this before and knows how to resolve the issue
