I have this MacBook here which just downloaded several updates. Those updates were available for month, but my friend never got around to get them installed.

After the updates were downloaded and installed, the computer rebooted into Windows.

When I restart and hold down ALT to get to the boot menu it lets me choose "Macintosh HD" or "Windows". But even choosing "Macintosh HD" makes the machine re-boot into Windows.

What's wrong? How can I get back to OS X?

cheers

Somewhere in the Windows Control Panel there is an option to tell the computer which OS/partition to use. I hate using Windows on my Mac, and only do it when I have to.

That didn't work. It looks like the MacBook wants to start OS X but then re-boots into Windows. Very strange.

Use your Mac disks to boot up from and then use Disk Utility to check the drives and partitions.
