I have a 2.16GHz C2D 20" iMac with 2GB RAM and a 250GB HD. I also own an :apple:TV an a 500GB external firewire HD that I store my media on for streaming to my :apple:TV.

I was able to get Windows Vista Ultimate for cheap while taking classes at the university here and installed it on Bootcamp. It runs well and seems to be okay so I occasionally go into Windows to "play" around and such.

My firewire drive is always running when in Leopard and is formatted for Leopard. EVERY time I have rebooted into Vista I have ejected and turned off my FWHD prior to doing so. Yesterday I forgot to turn it off and booted into Vista. I noticed nothing abnormal but did realize the fact I left the drive running.

When switching back to Leopard last night I got a message that my drive had been corrupted and I needed to back it up. When trying to load iTunes it told me I had a damaged iTunes library. I tried backing up but all of my files are damaged. Everything appears okay but music files skip or cut out and movies just stop 10 seconds or so into the movie. I've tried verifying/repairing the disk but it doesn't work. I also tried using Data Rescue II but it still recovers the damaged files.

Is it possible Vista corrupted my firewire hard drive when I booted over to it? Or is it just coincidence that it happened the ONLY time I did not shut off my FWHD when I booted into Vista?

Thanks!
