I'm in the process of making the switch over from PC to Mac.

Although the Mac will be my main OS eventually, I still need Win7 as I have my companies accounting program, and so far Intuit haven't done a version of quickbooks for the Mac...yet

I know about the in OSX methods of getting windows up but I'm going to do the bootcamp method as I ease my way into the OSX environment.

My actually question is this. If I install a new copy of Win7 on the partition, can I then go to my previous PC's full image backup on a external drive and bring in what is in effect that PC's programs, settings etc ? Has anyone tried this ?

The only thing I can see is by doing this it's not going to like the change of machines, will MS flag the product key as belonging to a different machine etc ? Could I refresh the key with the new Win7 disc ?
