So I tried to use bootcamp on a brand-new windows formatted 320GB SATA (in Bay3), after a fresh install of OS X on the newly made RAID in bays 1&2.
Bootcamp Assistant says I cant use it on an external drive -
.. So i scratched my head, had a bath to think about things, and then decided to just sod bootcamp and just startup the Mac with the Vista disk and install it anyways.
Well, what a pleasant experience that was - everything went well, dropped the MacOSX disk in and installed the drivers (Nvidia, keyboard, blutooth etc) and then ran all the updates for Winslowz.
Now I have COD4 running like a dream (and btw the 8800GT is actually a tad faster than my old 8800GTX rev.1) - A happy bunny indeed.
So my question is has anyone got a clue as to why boot camp hates my SATA (OS sees it as an internal drive ok)?
After installing (with both OS's booting happily), the boot camp assistant still wont recognise my disky...
(not that I care now of course)
oh, and the Mac Pro 2.8GHz with 8800GT beats my old 3.2Ghz + 8800GTX setup by over 1k 3D06 marks - nicely done Apple.
