I can run XP Home fine under Bootcamp and can hear startup, shutdown sounds, even run games with full sound. No problem.
However, I have a program CastBlaster which records podcasts. In its configuration I can choose which input to use as the "microphone" and which one to monitor to the headphones. Normally, these will be set the same.
I can set the input to "Line in" (seeing as my actual microphone goes via a small mixer to the line in port) but the "monitor" setting has absolutely no options listed.
The author of the software suggests that either (a) the sound system does not allow hardware monitoring, or (b) the drivers do not support it.
I find (a) hard to believe, but maybe (b) is the problem? Anybody have any suggestions as to how I might get around this?
As things stand I can record just fine, but I cannot hear my voice in my headphones while recording.
