hi there

got an old powerbook that i've not used for ages. i think the battery is completely dead; no lights after 24 hours charging.

but should i be able to boot without the battery in, just using the power supply? i can do this with an okld pc laptop but it won't work with this.

if i should be able to, its going in the bin! if not i probly need to hunt out a new battery

Yes you can boot it without a battery, I have my older iBook set up as a "desktop" machine and it has been running without a battery in it for probably 5 months.
