I’m taking my Macbook in for some repair work (bloody optical audio out won’t turn off – regardless of blowing/headphone jack wobbling) and I don’t know how long it’ll be in the shop.

I’m going to make a bootable clone on an external firewire drive so I can have my environment accessible while the Macbook is being fixed.

My question is this – will I be able to boot using this FW drive (running leopard) on my sons’ eMac (running tiger)? I’m guessing that there might be a conflict between the intel/ppc hardware?

(Failing that, I’ll have to wait for one of the few occasions when my wife is not on her Macbook, and borrow that…)

Thanks

PPCs use an entirely different Partition Table and you will not be able to boot an Intel Clone from a PPC.

You can of course still boot from your wife's macbook.
