Hey all. My hard drive is making a lot of noise and I think it may be thrashed. I have an external firewire drive on order, but I'd like to keep this one going until it burns out and I can get Apple to replace it 
Anyway, my volume structure failed in TechTool Deluxe, so I downloaded their CD. I'm trying to boot from the CD (holding down C when I restart, holding down Option and then selecting the CD as my boot drive, holding down command-option-shift-delete), but nothing is working. It goes straight to my login screen and then to Finder. What's the likely problem? Thanks for your help!
