Can I use the system drive from my Mac Pro 3.32 Quad Core Intel Xeon (2009) to boot up and run an older Mac Pro 2 x 2.66 Ghz Dual-Core Intel Xeon?

I'm in the studio business and will be going out of town for a recording session next week. Would prefer to run on my own system if possible, but the studio I'll be working out of has an older Dual Core. Ideally I'd just bring the internal drive from my Quad core, swap it with the Dual core's system drive, and run it like that.

Will this work or are the two models incompatible? Thanks.

Yes, that will work, as the drivers for older models are included in newer versions of Mac OS X, if those models are supported by the Mac OS X version of course.
