Since the odds of finding the Sonnet Tempo SATA card is very slim right now i'm looking at other options. Does anyone know if the Sonnet Allegro FW800 PCI/PCI-X card is bootable? OWC still sells external FW 800 drive enclosures I can put an existing SATA drive in.

Currently i'm using a cheap IDE to SATA adaper for a 120GB SATA SSD. This is the same setup as my B&W G3 and Performa computers which works fine... but there has to be better options for the Quicksilver.

I've looked into PCI SATA cards with little luck. Tried this thing... it worked for a couple days then died (I think). Haven't tried it in my B&W G3.

The Sonnet Tempo SATA X4i looks promising but according to Sonnet it doesn't support booting "at this time." Presumably in favor of their 2 port card which seems to be the holy grail at this point.

Tried the 2 port card I thought was dead in the B&W G3 and it seems to be very much alive. Perhaps there is some kind of hardware incompatibility with the Quicksilver. System profiler identifies it as a FirmTek SeriTec 1S2 card (didn't really identify properly if at all in the Quicksilver).
