Just wondering if other folks are having this power to boot issue. I actually have to disconnect my Firewire 800 to boot up. Let me explain this a little . I have a 30 inch with the DVi cable and that takes one USB which I have just the mouse connected to the monitor. The 2nd USb cable is from a powered hub which has DVD external drive, Scanner, Keyboard , Card reader attached . Now the Firewire 800 has a external drive enclosure that is powered but I am switching this to e-sata when the express card comes in, now here is the issue I have a Drobo which is basically a Firewire 800 storage device that holds all my large data . Now this is also powered but when you shut down it shuts down. So when you boot it is trying to start this Drobo up and it will not do that , just not enough juice in the Firewire port. So if I boot down I actually have to pull the Firewire 800 and wait till everything is up and be able to connect it. Now interestingly enough if I take everything off the MBP and just go solo , I can only really boot a small external LaCie Rugged Drive. I guess there is just not enough juice with all this cabling going on to handle the load. Just wandering if folks are having the same issues. Pulling the Firewire 800 is not a big deal but I find there certainly are some limits on the external ports and power to them.
This is about the only issue I have run into besides the blinking screen which BTW only happens more frequently from sleep and goes away as the machine is on longer and I noticed it is less frequent than when I first got the machine. Maybe some fairy dust was dropped on it but seems to actually be correcting itself to a degree
