This is about a MacBook Pro (late-2016) non-touch bar

I have two questions,

1. Is it normal that my MacBook was getting hot and the fans were turned on - while running these (Imo, basic) apps: Spotify, a movie on vlc (paused), Logic Pro (blank open session, not doing anything on it at all), and reddit on safari?
I was confused why the fans were on - as this is pretty much what I always have open and running, only last night did the fans start.

The battery life was also draining faster than usual and so I decided to shut down and restart it which leads to my second question:

2. Is it normal that my user icon/picture didn't show up when I booted it back up from shutting it down? I usually have a flower icon from Apple selected, but instead above my name there was just a sillohuette of a person in grey, kind of like in Facebook when there's no profile picture selected.

Also, when I went to type in my password, the keyboard wouldn't register anything, I wasn't able to type. In addition, I noticed that the trackpad was a bit laggy and unresponsive. I chose the option to reset my login password through iCloud and restarted it again.

This time, everything was still weird, different, slow, but I was able to enter my password, and after, my Flower icon image showed up. the os booted up and everything is normal now and running well.

I guess my main concern is, Are you supposed to see your user icon image when you boot up from shutting it down, or is a silhouette normal?

Weird things that I did last night that might have caused this:
installed AceStream, by downloading the application itself (no zip). I changed my settings to Allow all apps to run, and then wine started (it started on its own, is wine built into macOS or was it perhaps contained in the AceStream file?)

I would appreciate any insight I can get. thanks !
