I have my boot drive on a SSD with all my applications on it. It looks like:

Applications
Downloads (weird)
Library
System
Users

Then I have a Master Drive that has my user drive along with media on it.

Username Home Folder (Desktop,Documents,etc)

Without the Master Drive, I can't login. How can I login to my boot drive if my master drive fails? I was hoping this setup would allow me to do that but I was wrong.

Just create an admin account stored in the actual Users folder and you are good to go in case something with your Master Drive goes havoc.
