Bose Companion 2 series 3 VS. Soundlink 3

I open this topic because I have a doubt...
In April I will travel to America, and as everything is cheaper than in my country was planning to buy some speakers to play music better than I do now (the speakers built into the macbook air).

I have two options in mind:

Bose Companion 2 series III
and
Bose Soundlink III

What is the difference in sound of the two?

Can you think of any other options? Can not be very "bulky" because I need to pass through the airport
