Currently have the Logitech X 540 and am considering Bose Companion 3, but am not sure if I trully will notice a difference in the quality of the sound, or if I'm just paying for the "Bose".

Bose ALL THE WAY

I have Bose Companion 3 , it has that remote control pad that is touch

sensitive and it's really cool It comes with one bass woofer and two great

side speakers. It look really fancy on my desk and sounds great.

I was going to get 5 but 3 looked ok for it's price and i'm totally satisfied.

I know there lot of bad opinions on Bose audio especially in MR but get the

Bose. Logitech is no comparison to Bose in terms of audio investment etc..

They make good mouse though.

Sweet :) Just bought it for $100 with an Apple Airport Express!!!

Futureshop had a deal where if you buy a Macbook or iMac you get this bundle. I just bought it last week so they gave me the deal.

Im about to unbox it now. These are heavy!

Bose is one of the leaders in audio. Logitech is good, but Bose (IMHO) is much better. Pricey at some points but quality is reputable.

Bose is one of the most despiced companies in Audio circles, if one cares for Audio.
No Audiophile will ever own any of their stuff ;) .
As computer speakers, they might be fine, just ot an better than the compition at half the price.

Here comes , as I expected earlier :D

BOSE Acoustimass - Better Profits Through Marketing

That piece only touches on the Acoustimass system, though. But the general consensus among audiophiles is indeed that Bose gear is not nearly as good as they (Bose) themselves claim it is. Of course, some Bose stuff will be completely fine. I mean, how could everything they make be bad, while still being bought so much? Although I must say that here in Europe Bose has only a tiny fraction of the market. People here tend to go with brands like NAD, B&W, JBL, Denon, Marantz, Harman Kardon, Onkyo, Pioneer and Sony more often. Rightfully so.

for $100 - I'd say you aren't paying too much more for the name. Bose speakers don't sound bad - they are just massively overpriced, but given the discount you are getting you may not be getting that bad. I'd say the Bose sound regardless of which version you are getting. But to say that Bose is the end all be all and never makes a bad product is just a load of s*** (see Bose in-ear earphones if you want to talk about bad quality for a lot of money)
